Two new creator tools: Content Ideas & Shoutout Exchange

  • Content Ideas: a shared library of content ideas you can browse by category, upvote and save for later. Stuck on what to post? Start here.
  • Shoutout Exchange: post a listing to find creators for shoutout-for-shoutout, collabs and cross-promo. Browse by platform and reach, then message them directly.

  • Liking or commenting on a guide chapter from the activity feed now shows up on the chapter page itself, and the other way around. Likes and comments are shared everywhere the chapter appears.

Two-Factor Authentication

  • You can now secure your account with two-factor authentication (2FA). Turn it on under Settings → Password.
  • Use any authenticator app (Google Authenticator, Authy, 1Password, and others) to generate a login code.
  • Get one-time backup codes when you enable it, so you can still log in if you lose your phone.

Links now jump straight to the right post

  • Clicking "View topic" in the activity feed (or a post link from search or notifications) now lands you exactly on the intended reply, even when it is on a later page of the topic.
  • The post you land on is no longer hidden behind the top menu bar, and it stays put while images finish loading.
  • It now jumps straight to the post instead of scrolling down the page, which is faster and much less jarring on mobile.

  • Editing a reply that contains a quote used to flatten the quote into plain text. Quotes now stay properly formatted after an edit.

  • Toggling checkboxes in the "Show in my feed" dropdown above the activity feed now actually saves. Picks were silently dropping on the server and every reload reset them.
  • Unchecking an item in the "Show in my feed" dropdown above the activity feed now correctly hides those items and fills the page with the remaining types instead of leaving gaps.
  • Feed filters now live in a single place. The duplicate "Feed Preferences" section was removed from Settings → Preferences so there's only one source of truth.

  • The comparison tables on the compare pages now switch to dark backgrounds instead of staying white between rows.
  • Category tiles on the Resources page with emerald, cyan, teal, rose, violet, and sky accents now tint correctly in dark mode.
  • Various sticky toolbars, "no" icons, and faint placeholder icons are no longer washed out against the dark background.

Personal feed preferences

  • Settings → Preferences is now available to every member and includes a "Feed Preferences" section that mirrors the "All Activity" filter above the homepage feed.
  • You can pick exactly what shows up by default: topics, connections, photos, wall posts, reviews, articles, polls, job listings, achievements, level ups, new members and industry news. There's also an "Only my connections" toggle.
  • Tweaks made in the homepage dropdown now stick across devices because they're saved to your profile instead of just your browser.

  • The Settings → Notifications page is easier to scan: the long description under each toggle is now hidden for regular members, leaving just the option titles.
  • The "Resource Rep Activity" toggle is now only shown to official representatives, since it has no effect for anyone else.

  • The birthday field in Settings is now restricted to people aged 18 or older. The date picker will not let you pick a more recent date, and the same check runs on the server and in the mobile API.

Articles can now appear in the activity feed

  • When an article is published, admins can flick on "Show in the feed" to drop it into the homepage activity feed with the featured image, an excerpt and a Read more link.
  • Likes and comments on the feed card stay perfectly in sync with the article page, so a heart on either side counts the same.
  • You can hide article cards from your own feed under Settings → Preferences → "Show blog/article activity".

Typing indicator in the Community Chatroom

  • The floating Chatroom widget (and its pop-out window) now shows a "...is typing" hint whenever other members are composing a message. When three or more people are typing at once it collapses to "Several people are typing…" to keep the row tidy.

  • Members earn XP when one of their replies is marked helpful, and your total helpful replies now show on your profile.
  • Reach 10 helpful replies to unlock the new "Lifesaver" achievement.

  • Reporting topics, posts, photos, members and conversations now opens its own page instead of a pop-up box.
  • Writing a review, writing a recommendation, editing or deleting a photo, and deleting your account now each have a dedicated page.
  • Moderator actions on topics (rename, move, delete, slow mode, merge) now use full pages too.
  • This fixes the issues some members had with pop-up boxes not opening or behaving incorrectly.

  • Every chatroom message now has a heart button at the bottom-right. Tap it to like a message and the counter goes up for everyone.
  • On desktop the heart fades in when you hover a message; on mobile it stays visible. Your own messages only show the heart once someone has liked them.

  • Cleaned up 1,468 legacy profile website fields that were saved without "https://" and were silently linking back to the site instead of out to the member's page.

Fewer chatroom error toasts when the server hiccups

  • If the chatroom can't reach the server, the widget now waits progressively longer between retries (up to a minute) instead of polling every 4 seconds. Once the server responds, polling speeds back up.

Emoji + GIF picker rolled out site-wide

  • Every emoji picker on the site (forum topics, forum replies, feed comments, review comments, photo comments, and DMs) now uses the same tabbed picker as the chatroom.
  • Pick GIFs from GIPHY directly in your reply or comment. The grid loads more as you scroll, and trending GIFs show up by default.
  • A "Recently Used" row sits at the top so the emojis you pick most stay one click away.

  • On your settings page, the website and additional-website fields no longer reject "google.com" with a browser validation error. We automatically add https:// for you when you leave the field or save.

Chatroom: reply to messages

  • Each message now has a reply button next to it. Click it to quote that message above the input, and the original text shows up as a tidy header inside your bubble once you send.
  • The reply preview above the composer can be dismissed with the X button or by hitting Esc.
  • Tap a quote header on any message to jump straight to the original. The chat scrolls up and briefly highlights it.

Much faster review overview pages

  • Overview pages with site screenshots (like the Cam Sites category) now load much faster: preview images are served as lightweight thumbnails and only load as you scroll.
  • Full-size screenshots are still shown on the review detail pages.

Chatroom: share images, GIFs and more emojis

  • Upload an image straight from the composer using the new picture button on the right of the input. JPG, PNG, GIF and WebP are supported, and oversized photos are automatically scaled down before sending.
  • Open the emoji button (now on the left of the input) to see a new tabbed picker with Emojis and GIFs side by side.
  • Pick GIFs through the built-in GIPHY search. The grid shows trending picks by default and you can search for whatever fits the mood.
  • Two new emoji categories: Nature & Animals and Food & Drink. The Smileys and Gestures sets also got a lot more variety.
  • A Recently Used row at the top of the picker remembers your last emojis on this device so the ones you actually use are always one click away.

Chatroom: scroll up to read older messages and longer posts

  • Scroll to the top of the chat to load older messages — the conversation history now keeps loading further back, the same way the feed and Active Topics already do.
  • Your scroll position stays put when older messages load, so you can keep reading without the view jumping around.
  • The character limit on chat messages has been removed, so you can paste longer notes, links or snippets without the "too long" error.

  • Pages that show a list of topics or feed items render noticeably faster — under the hood we now only check who you are once per page instead of once per row.

  • Removed the Event Stats sidebar block on the Events page to keep the focus on the actual events.
  • Cleaned up the Country filter: duplicates (USA / United States, Netherlands / The Netherlands, UK / United Kingdom) are merged, and stray city or non-country entries no longer appear in the dropdown.
  • The Country filter only lists countries that have upcoming events, so every option leads somewhere.

Liked-by avatars everywhere

  • The small avatars under "Liked by" now show a coloured ring (verified, rep, mod, admin) layered over the white separator, so the role colour is visible and the avatars still look like distinct circles.
  • Articles and guide chapters now show the same liked-by avatar stack as forum topics and reviews, with a click-to-open list of everyone who liked the page.

Language review for new posts

  • Topics and replies that contain a lot of non-English text are now held for moderator review before they go live, which helps keep copy-paste spam out of the forum.
  • A short greeting in another language is fine, only posts that are mostly non-English are held back.
  • You will see a friendly notice if your post is waiting for review, and moderators will publish or remove it shortly.

  • Member cards have a new layout with a clear stats row showing posts, join month, and online status — no more text wrapping awkwardly across two lines.

  • Brand-new members posting their very first topic land in Introductions by default, with a one-click escape to pick another category.
  • If you haven't confirmed your email yet, the topic and reply forms now show a clear notice with a resend link, instead of failing on submit.
  • Categories you can't post in are no longer shown in the dropdown, so you can't accidentally lose a draft to a verified-only or staff-only category.
  • Topic title and body now require a minimum length so first posts have something for the conversation to grab onto.
  • A Tags field is now visible on the new-topic form (it was already accepted in the background).
  • The onboarding wizard suggests your username as a starting display name and now clearly explains the @handle stays the same.
  • Completing the wizard is now reliably reflected in the "Getting Started" widget — finished steps stay finished and skipped steps remain visible.

Conversation starters in the feed

  • Topics with no replies yet now show a small "Reply" prompt right in the feed.
  • One click takes you straight to the reply form so you can jump in without losing your spot.

Login streaks

  • A flame badge now shows how many days in a row you've logged in.
  • Visible on the homepage sidebar and on your profile — climbs every day you visit, resets if you miss a day.
  • Daily login already earned XP; the streak just makes the habit visible.

  • Writing reviews, starting topics, and other real contributions now earn meaningfully more XP than before.
  • Low-effort actions like daily login, poll votes, and giving likes earn less — receiving likes on your content earns more.
